YKK announced the launch of its first ever London-based showroom on Commercial Street in Shoreditch. The zipper company said that their physical entry into the fashion community will facilitate relationships with students, designers and stylists.
The showroom will feature products and services including the first in-store Snap & Button attaching service. Specialists will be available for one-on-one appointments, and the space will also host events.
The showroom is inspired by YKK’s industrial background and combines Japanese precision with British fashion and design. The concept was developed by architect and fashion designer Kei Kagami.
Project leader Hitoshi Yamaguchi said, “YKK has long worked with the fashion industry, and with the showroom project it aims to strengthen even more its relationship with the fashion community.”
