J Brand’s Collaboration with Former Kardashian Assistant Sells Out in 19 Hours

Being the former assistant of Kim Kardashian West brings with it unique opportunities, including collaborations with J Brand.

Instagram influencer Stephanie Shepard teamed up with J Brand to launch Tuesday a limited run skinny jean called the #LittleBlackJean. The jeans sold out in 19 hours, People magazine reported.

Less than 100 pairs of the lace-up jean were made, with each pair numbered. Shoppers that missed their opportunity to snag a pair of the $278 skinnies can added their e-mail address to a wait list on Jbrand.com.

Based on J Brand’s iconic Maria style, the #LittleBlackJean features a higher than average rise and a fit that’s more snug. The jeans are made with the brand’s Photo Ready denim, a fabric constructed of slimming stretch technology that lifts and contours to the body.

On the website, the brand warns ladies, “Be aware that getting into the jean may require some added acrobatics.” Shepard described the jean as a pant that “slurps you in.”

“I’ve lived in black skinny jeans for probably the last seven years; it’s my uniform. Many of J Brand’s styles have been in my everyday rotation,” Shepard said. “Knowing the fits and cuts really helped to dial in the style I wanted to work with. I knew that the Maria was one of my favorite styles, so we had a familiar jumping-off point to start the process.”

Shepard served as Kardashian West’s assistant beginning in 2013 and then was promoted to COO of Kardashian West Brands. They parted ways in November 2017. Shepard has 1.1 million followers on Instagram.
