“With LYCRA® dualFX® technology we have created an incredibly modern, movable jean with a vintage-inspired look, unlike anything we have created before.” —Jaime Henika, Director of Merchandising, 7 For All Mankind
Introduced in 2011, mills, brands and retailers have long appreciated LYCRA® dualFX® technology for its ability to deliver denim with lasting shape retention. But beyond its pure performance attributes, this versatile yarn is allowing denim developers to create fabrics with unique and sometimes surprising attributes. Consider these unexpected combinations: modern vintage, stretch selvedge, soft yet powerful. These are just a few of the new concepts licensed mills are bringing to life in their latest creations with LYCRA® dualFX® technology.
And research indicates these combinations are highly desirable among today’s consumers. A recent study by 2CV* that surveyed 2,500 female millennials across five countries (the U.S., Germany, Spain, China, and Brazil) revealed that more than two-thirds of respondents wanted jeans that would allow them to move around comfortably, but also wanted jeans that were “stylish,” “looked good” and looked like “real denim.”
And while more than 55 percent of those same consumers desire jeans that keep their shape, only 22 percent said the last pair of jeans they purchased did so, revealing a significant gap between consumers’ expectations and reality. Solutions such as LYCRA® dualFX® technology can address these needs. One current example is 7 For All Mankind’s Luxe Vintage jean that combines an authentic vintage look with the comfort and lasting fit of LYCRA® dualFX® technology.
