Cone Denim and Crystal International Group are getting together for the Crystal X Cone Collaboration, which will bow at the Kingpins China City Tour trade show next week.
This supply chain between the denim fabric manufacturer Cone Denim and apparel producer Crystal aims to provide a new level of sustainable denim solutions and fabric offerings. The Crystal X Cone Collaboration expands the sustainable denim offered as part of Cone Denim’s Sustainblue Collection and brings new capabilities to customers as part of Crystal’s Eco Blu Collection.
Cone Denim said the fabrics in the capsule collection support sustainable practices throughout the development and production lifecycle, featuring responsible cotton, recycled content and environmentally friendly processing. Crystal X Cone offers premium denim fabrics that are engineered and designed for high performance with garment laser technology.
“Crystal is a leader in laser technology and denim finishing and we are excited to join forces with them,” Steve Maggard, president of Cone Denim, said. “The Crystal X Cone Collaboration advances the sustainability supply chain by offering denim products that are sustainable from the fabric through to the laundry.
“Starting with recycled cotton, our Cone 3D experts have created a collection of denim fabrics that are responsibly produced and engineered for optimal laser technology finishing,” Maggard added. “Cone is committed to partnering across the industry to engage in meaningful collaborations with like-minded leaders to create authentically-inspired, environmentally-friendly denims.”
Miles Lam, assistant general manager for product development for Crystal, said that because creating sustainable premium denim apparel starts with the fabric, Cone Denim’s innovative approach made it a perfect partner for this collaboration.
“Our laser technology has opened up new and advanced possibilities to creating beautifully designed denim which minimizes the usage of water and chemicals,” Lam said. “Starting with Cone’s sustainably designed fabric, we are able to offer the highest degree of eco-friendly denim products to our customers.”
Cone Denim operates as part of Elevate Textiles Inc., with manufacturing capabilities in Mexico and China and a global network of sales, product and merchandising professionals based out of Greensboro, N.C., New York, San Francisco and Hong Kong.
Crystal International Group Limited, based in Hong Kong, produces denim, intimate apparel, sweaters, sportswear and outdoor apparel. The company operates some 20 production facilities in Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
