Smart denim startup FitCode wants to make it easier for women to find perfect-fitting jeans online with the launch of a new browser extension.
The launch of ‘Jeanius’ is Fitcode’s first major undertaking since announcing it had secured more than $1.8 million in funding from Harvey Partners back in September. Customers who use Fitcode’s website are matched with one of nine ‘Fitcodes’ based her body shape. Once a Fitcode is identified, the customer can browse a curated selection in the Denim Boutique on Fitcode’s website or via Fitcode Jeanius. Each pair is hand measured from different specifications and researched for stretch and fabric content.
Part denim stylist and part online shopping companion, Fitcode Jeanius helps consumers shop supported sites like Nordstrom, Paige, 7 For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Hudson, J Brand, Joe’s Jeans, Kut from the Kloth, and NYDJ. Compatible with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, once the browser extension is installed, shoppers will see Fitcode’s icon overlay on recommended jeans.
“With no standardized measurements across brands, online shopping is a guessing game for women,” said Rian Buckley, CEO and a founder of Fitcode. “Fitcode seeks to empower women to shop online with confidence for jeans that fit and flatter diverse body types.”
