Nordstrom Brand Gives Back to Empower Girls

Nordstrom announced its first donation from sales of Treasure&Bond, the company’s private label, give-back brand. The company gave $185,000 to the nonprofit Girls Inc., which works to mentor and empower girls in the U.S. and Canada.

Launched in June 2014, Treasure&Bond is rooted in denim and classic wardrobe staples for women. The spring collection will feature a laid-back, boyfriend-inspired style, with new denim washes, plaid shirts and jean jackets. Nordstrom donates 5 percent of net profits to organizations, like Girls Inc., that are focused on the well-being of girls and young women.

Mark Tritton, president of Nordstrom Product Group, said, “We were grateful to have an amazing first partner in Girls Inc., and look forward to seeing the impact that our customers’ support of Treasure&Bond will have on the girls and young women who are a part of their programs.”

Nordstrom’s next partner, through July 2015, will be Girls on the Run. Founded in 1996, Girls on the Run focuses on interactive lessons that highlight relationships and teamwork. The organization is located in 225 locations across the country and has served nearly one million girls.

Treasure&Bond’s spring line will be available in select Nordstrom stores and online.
