Women and how they are changing the denim industry for the better will be the subject of a new four-part podcast.
The series is a collaboration between “Blue Cast by Tencel,” a podcast series created on Carved in Blue by the Tencel denim team sharing in-depth talks to the denim community at large, and the Fashion Impact Fund, a charitable trust supporting women who are improving the fashion industry environmentally and socially. Called “Circularity Solutionists,” the series will air in October and spotlight female denim insiders who are promoting systematic change to reduce, reuse and recycle.
It follows the launch of “Solutionist” in March 2022 which supported the Women’s History Month theme “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.” Each week of October, “Circularity Solutionists” will feature women in the fashion and denim industry who are making an impact in forging change. Starting Saturday, Oct. 5, the series will highlight Brittany Dickinson from Goodwill (U.S.) as its first guest. She will be followed by other Saturday episodes with Constanza Gomez from Sortile (U.S.), a company that promotes textile recycling; Estefanía Angel Villanueva from Banqu (Colombia), which provides supply-chain software; and Nin Castle from Reverse Resources (U.K.), which digitizes data on textile waste flows.
The podcast will be available on iTunes and Spotify.
Tricia Carey, the host of the podcast and the director of global business development at Lenzing, the producer of Tencel, said, “The textile and fashion industry is poised for an evolution which is led by determined and curious leaders around the world. The women interviewed in the ‘Circularity Solutionists’ podcast represent the spirit and drive to impact circular solutions while keeping people in the center of this change. It was inspiring to speak with each person and learn their inner motivation.”
Kerry Bannigan, executive director of the Fashion Impact Fund, added, “Our continued partnership with Blue Cast by Tencel drives our mission to support content that centers the voices and amplifies the leadership of women transforming fashion for people and planet. The featured women in this series are committed to advancing fashion initiatives that reimagine the future with solutions for a sustainable world.”
