Magic Adds Nashville to 2022 Trade Show Schedule

The pandemic disrupted the trade show calendar, but it has also opened a window of opportunity for organizers to test their events in new markets.

Magic, the trend and young contemporary markets event organized by Informa Markets Fashion, announced Thursday plans to introduce a Nashville, Tenn. show. Set to take place on May 16-17, 2022 at the Music City Center, the event will feature an “intimate collection” of women’s and children’s apparel, as well as footwear and accessories brands.

“As new trends emerge and consumer demand shifts, Magic’s full 2022 calendar will support brands and buyers with more efficient ways to capitalize on these shifts and ultimately, drive more growth for their businesses,” said Jordan Rudow, Magic vice president of events.

Magic Nashville follows the 2021 introduction of Magic New York. Informa Fashion Markets also launched a set of events this year for its Coterie and Project brands in Miami geared toward resort and immediate. With a booming housing market and tech industry, Nashville is ripe for retail. The metropolitan area ranked No. 1 on real estate platform Stessa’s recent report of cities with the greatest economic growth in 2021.

Positioned between primary shopping seasons, Magic Nashville aims to offers brick-and-mortar and online retailers the option to shop immediates and replenish inventory in advance of the Fall/Winter 2022-2023 season, while providing brands opportunities to access new markets. “For the trend and young contemporary market, speed to retail is critical in order to deliver on continuously evolving consumer demands,” Rudow said.

Magic’s usual haunts—Las Vegas and New York—are back on the 2022 calendar as well.

Magic Las Vegas will return to the Las Vegas Convention Center on Feb. 14-16, 2022. There, activations and programming centered on Informa Markets for Change (IMFC) initiative, which fosters allyship, inclusion, and equality within the fashion community, will be part of the schedule. The show will also feature onsite curations of “Made in USA” and sustainable products.

Magic New York will take place on Feb. 27-March 1 and Sept. 18-20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Informa Fashion Markets previously announced the 2022 dates for its hero brand, Project, serving both men’s and women’s contemporary markets. Project Las Vegas (men’s and women’s) will return to the Las Vegas Convention Center on Feb. 14-16, 2022 and Aug. 8-10, 2022. Project New York will also return for its twice annual men’s-focused event in January 2022 and July 2022, though exact dates are still undetermined.
