Magic Prepares for First Trade Show in Nashville

Magic Nashville debuts May 16-17 at Music City Center. The women’s contemporary trade show will offer live music and electric bull riding alongside collections from Dear John Denim, Kut from the Kloth, Flying Monkey Jeans and more.

Coordinating sets, day-to-night dresses and Western-inspired footwear are expected to be big trends at Magic’s second regional event. Magic hosted a show in Orlando in February 2021.

New exhibitors include Burt’s Bees, Bishop + Young, Gigi Pip, Greylin, Z Supply, BB Dakota by Steve Madden, Heartloom, Zodiac Shoes, London Rag, Diego 1969, Wyeth and Midnight Paloma. Other notable brands include ASTR the Label, Chaser, Lost + Wander and Band of the Free.

Positioned between primary shopping seasons, Magic Nashville aims to offer brick-and-mortar and online retailers the option to shop immediates and replenish inventory in advance of the Fall/Winter 2022-2023 season, while giving brands opportunities to access new markets.

“For the trend and young contemporary market, speed to retail is critical in order to deliver on continuously evolving consumer demands,” said Jordan Rudow, Magic VP of events.

A series of onsite educational programs and events are on deck. Rudow and Kelly Helfman, Informa Markets Fashion president, will provide attendees with best practices while shopping Nashville as well as top 2022 trends to look out for on the show floor. Other panels will cover topics like social media strategies, financial management for small businesses, visual merchandising strategies and tips on how to improve sell-through rates.

In keeping with Nashville’s roots, music will be a constant theme during the two-day event.

To celebrate the launch, Magic Nashville will host an opening night party featuring live music from country artist Rachael Turner on May 16 at Legend’s Corner Bar. Brand representatives and industry professionals can network and build connections in the fashion industry while celebrating the kickoff of the new market.

Attendees can also catch performances at the show. Sponsored by Grace in LA Jeans, the Hub Lounge will feature sets on both days by artists like Cash Crawford and Ross Flora, Elise Stein, Megan Nadin, Blessing Offor, Lockwood Barr and more.
