NYMD, organized by public relations firm Agentry PR, will be held Sept. 15 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. EST to coincide with New York Fashion Week (NYFW). It will present 10 menswear and gender-fluid collections from new designers using Runway360, a digital platform recently launched by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
Designers will be able to showcase their Spring/Summer 2021 collections using the platform’s digital capabilities, which include AR/VR, live video streaming, e-commerce extensions, consumer shopping features, social media integrations, product images and more.
“This season is obviously very different from the past NYMD’s we have done, but it’s now more important than ever to provide a platform for emerging designers to showcase their collections and it’s why NYMD was conceived in the first place,” said Erin Hawker, founder of Agentry PR. “We’re extremely happy to continue our mission of supporting new and young talent and even though we might not be showing in physical spaces this season, we’re still proud to be able to offer a digital space for our designers to make it uniquely their own to showcase their creations to the world.”
Featured in the presentation are men’s wear collections from Carter Young, Stan, Timo Weiland, Teddy Vonranson, Future Lovers of Tomorrow, David Hart and Wataru Tominaga; as well as gender-fluid collections from Apotts, Ka Wa Key and Official Rebrand. Stan, Teddy Vonranson, Future Lovers of Tomorrow and Wataru Tominaga will be showing their collections at NYMD for the first time.
NYFW will take place from Sept. 13-17 live at the Spring Studios event venue in New York City and online at NYFW.com, which will be expanded and enhanced for the upcoming season to feature more livestreamed runway shows and exclusive designer content.
