50 Ways Celebrities Are Wearing Denim This Season

Classic 501-inspired jeans prevailed as a favorite among Hollywood stars this winter. Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber and Katie Holmes were among the famous faces who wore the style throughout the season, pairing it with cozy coats and knits. Zoe Kravitz nailed the effortlessly cool look with a glittery top and pair of worn-in straight-fit jeans.

Young starlets also experimented with wider fits. Shailene Woodley wore Stella McCartney’s mom jeans with front seam details. Hailee Steinfeld stepped out in drapey wide-leg jeans with a self-tie belt. Musician Dua Lipa added a Gen Z twist to the roomy bottoms by pairing her jeans with trendy chunky sneakers, and Selena Gomez styled her oversized jeans with a boxy blazer.

Cropped wide fits were a popular choice for celebrities on the go, including Rachel McAdams, Courteney Cox and Emma Roberts. Meanwhile, Charlize Theron broke traditional fashion rules by wearing wide-leg white jeans in the winter.

Distressed denim returned to the scene, too.

Garcelle Beauvais wore ripped-up, wide-leg jeans with a trendy belted leather top, while NeNe Leakes wore similar distressed jeans over leopard print leggings. Christina Milian opted for a skinnier fit with multiple rips. Others chose more minimal distressing. A split knee or two added interest to jeans worn by Lucy Hale, Alicia Keys and Sofia Vergara.

Mother-daughter duo Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber may share the same career path, but their denim style differs. While Crawford opted for blue skinny jeans, Gerber was seen in Europe wearing straight and relaxed fit jeans styled with a wardrobe of ’90s-inspired man tailored turtleneck tops, blazers and boots.

During fashion month, Bella Hadid echoed that ’90s look with a blazer and jeans with just one bleached leg, while patchwork denim added a downtown cool vibe to Olivia Palermo’s designer outfit.

Skinny silhouettes remained a staple for many. For Regina Hall, Hilary Duff and Heidi Klum, skinnies were their go-to jean to wear tucked into their statement boots. Black and gray skinny jeans were popular with Mila Kunis, Jennifer Garner and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Men favored skinny and slim jeans, too. Tan France, Kit Harrington and Mark Wahlberg opted for super stretch skinny jeans. Others like Kevin Jonas and Alexander Skarsgard chose slightly slouchier fits in gray denim, while slim black denim was a must for rocker Iggy Pop. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber continues to push the return of baggy denim.
