With 41 days until the U.S. presidential election, fashion brands are taking a nonpartisan approach to encouraging voter registration and voter turnout by rolling out election-themed merchandise like tees, masks and pins.
And consumers are paying attention. Recent data by global fashion search platform Lyst shows that voting merchandise is seeing an increase in popularity in the U.S.—most commonly in the form of a white T-shirt—with searches including the word “vote” growing 29 percent week-on-week.
Along with launching initiatives to encourage their employees to vote, brands are also throwing their support behind voter participation by donating some proceeds of their voting merchandise to organizations like Rock the Vote and I am a voter.
Here, Rivet rounded up some of the voter-themed offerings up for grabs and the steps brands are taking to support democracy.
