What do women want? Compact designer handbags, tie-dye and one-piece everything, according to the Lyst Index of the hottest women’s products of Q2 2019.
The global fashion search platform recently released its index of the most popular items for the quarter, a list based on the online shopping behavior of more than 5 million shoppers a month searching, browsing and buying fashion across 12,000 designers and stores online.
Off-White’s 1.4 Jitney bag, a $1,170 leather top-handle purse inspired by the Hampton Jitney bus line, ranked No. 1 on the index. Part of the pre-Fall collection, Lyst reported that demand for the bag was building in the weeks before its release in June and sold out across multiple retailers soon after.
Other covetable bags included the Chloe C mini croc-effect leather shoulder bag, which nabbed the No. 3 position. The bag, which is distinguished by a large metal C ornament, was Chloe’s most viewed product, Lyst reported, responsible for driving a 900 percent quarter-on-quarter increase in global searches for the French fashion house.
At No. 5, Bottega Veneta’s “The Pouch” quietly garnered a following on Instagram for its minimalist design. The oversized clutch—offered in a myriad of colorful smooth or woven calf leathers—captured more than 10,000 views a month since its launch, Lyst said.
Underscoring the popularity of effortless dressing, bodysuits and jumpsuits made a strong appearance on the list. The red Adidas x Ji Won Choi number that Beyoncé wore in an Instagram photo in April ranked No. 4 on the index and inspired thousands of searches for red bodysuits. Lyst reported that searches for similar one-pieces spiked 183 percent after the image was posted, and the exact $56 Adidas piece has been sold out ever since.

Onia’s Western one-piece swimsuit with WeWoreWhat nabbed the No. 7 post. Searches for the belted, cow-printed bathing suit increased 33 percent after images surfaced of both Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian wearing the piece.
With utilitarian looks picking up momentum in women’s fashion, Isabel Marant’s Tundra boiler suit ranked No. 9 on the list. The one-piece, made with lyocell and linen, features an elasticized waist and patch pockets and comes in mauve and black.
The tie-dye trend left its mark on Lyst’s index. Ralph Lauren’s tie-dye polo T-shirt ranked No. 8. The brand’s take on acid-hued psychedelic swirls has been seen on celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Adwoa Aboah, and Nina Suess since its launch.
Meanwhile, the hottest footwear styles are proof that trends are all over the place. The $85 Teva Hurricane XLT2, a multi-colored outdoor sandal, ranked No. 2 on the list. Lyst reported that searches for the shoe increased 350 percent globally over the past three months.
And on the other end of the style spectrum, another affordable shoe, the $80 Topshop Strippy sandal, ranked No. 6. Demand for “barely there” shoes increased 352 percent in Q2, with “strappy” being the most searched-for keyword paired with sandals, Lyst reported.
The feminine shoe complements the only frock to make this list at No. 10, the LoveShackFancy Angie silk dress—a puff-sleeve, Instagram-worthy take on spring’s milk-maid fashion trend.
