To meet the global demand for denim experts, Jeans School in Amsterdam is launching an international course in April 2015. Classes will be taught in English.
The nine-month course is divided into three three-month long terms leading to the Pearson/BTEX Level 3 extended diploma in art and design – fashion and clothing.
First term curriculum introduces the student to the basics of denim, covering fabrics, cut and sew, stitching, production, and laundry and finishing. During the second term, students learn about the industry cycle from design to pattern making. The third term looks at the business aspects of denim, including sourcing, buying, marketing and promotion.
Students do not need any prior industry-related experience to enroll. Jean School and Jean School International Course are initiatives by ROC van Amsterdam and House of Denim.
