The Prada Group is piping hot, according to the The Lyst Index Q1 2023.
Its namesake brand ranked was named the “hottest brand in the world” for the second consecutive quarter. Lyst said searches for Prada were up 22 percent in Q1 and their sunglasses have seen the biggest category increase with queries surging 56 percent over the three-month frame.
Sister brand Miu Miu ranked No. 2—its highest spot ever on The Lyst Index. The brand’s denim sneaker collaboration with New Balance and its celebrity-studded Fall/Winter 23-24 runway show generated digital buzz.
Moncler claimed third place, followed by Valentino, Loewe and Bottega Veneta. Dolce & Gabbana climbed two places to No. 7, thanks to the Kardashian-Jenner clan wearing new and archival pieces.
Fellow Italian label Versace ranked No. 8. Alessandro Michele-less Gucci dropped seven places to No. 9, while Saint Laurent remained at No 10.
Dior, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Diesel, Burberry, Fendi, Skims, Balenciaga, Jacquemus and JW Anderson rounded out the top 20 list.
The Lyst Index Q1 Hottest Products skew (mostly) toward practical pieces.
At No. 1, Uniqlo’s $20 crescent polyester shoulder bag topped the list after going viral on TikTok with more than 50 million views, Lyst said.
Rick Owens’ Kriester sunglasses ranked second, followed by Skims’ sculpt bodysuit at No. 3.
MSCHF’s Big Red Boots underscores the value of designing for social media. The viral Astro Boy-inspired shoe has been worn by rapper Lil Wayne and NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Denim maxi skirts have become a street style staple, but one came out on top during Q1. Leading the Y2K revival, Diesel’s denim maxi skirt was the fifth hottest product of the quarter. The A-line button-front skirt has deep front pockets and a fifth pocket that nods to classic jeanswear design.
In light with the Surrealism movement in fashion, Bottega Veneta’s drop earrings that mimic the look of water droplets ranked No. 6. As Harry Styles’ go-to sneaker as of late, Adidas Gazelles landed at No. 7.
Organic cotton jeans from H&M Group’s Weekday brand landed on the hottest products index as well. The brand’s genderless Astro Loose Baggy Jeans, which retail for 60 euros ($66), ranked eighth on the index thanks to the resurgence of ’90s grunge. The jean has sold out in multiple colorways, and searches are three times higher than they are for the second most popular pair of loose fitting jeans, Lyst said.

In contrast to Uniqlo’s accessible ‘It’ bag, Alaïa’s $1,170 Le Coer bag ranked No. 9. Lyst said searches for the heart-shaped shoulder bag increased 30 percent quarter-on-quarter.
Another red shoe, MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross High sneakers, rounded out the list at No. 10. The shoe benefited from high-profile screen time in Q1. Rihanna performed her Super Bowl halftime show in the Low version.
