Denim has long served as a canvas for artwork, but recently it has catapulted into popularity with designers presenting painted denim in recent collections. Brands such as Qasimi, Liam Hodges, Emporio Armani, Christian Siriano and Alberta Ferretti have all featured creative dye effects using denim as their backdrop.
The trend was further underscored this year as home-bound consumers looked to creative DIY projects involving paint, bleach and old jeans.
