Denim brands are satisfying the Instagram Generation’s love for color.
Brands at Project Womens and Stitch in Las Vegas earlier this month presented novelties for Spring ’19 collections, including color denim, new shapes and coordinating sets.
While vintage indigo washes remain brands’ bread and butter, a fresh wave of saturated brights and washed desert hues offered collections a new fashion component.
Calvin Klein Jeans dove deep into color. Bright yellow, bubblegum pink and fire engine red brought a pop art feeling to the brand’s ongoing Americana story—perhaps influenced by the brand’s ongoing partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

Jean jackets in varying shades of blue created a clean and minimal take on patchwork. Bright yellow refreshed jean jackets and denim shirts, included styles updated with zip closures. Abstract cow print decorated jean jackets and matching skirts. Calvin Klein also color blocked its signature Western snap front shirt in pink and red—a bold look that was carried into coordinating pink jeans with red side stripes.
Lucky Brand captured a Western feeling in its women’s collection. Horseshoe motifs and Southwestern embroidery ran throughout the collection. The brand updated its Ava crop jean in washed shades of pink, yellow and green.

Kut from the Kloth enhanced its laidback spring collection with sun-kissed desert colors. Denim in shades of olive, ecru and golden yellow added a natural feeling to the brand’s linen trousers, gaucho jeans and skinnies with various hem treatments. The brand tapped into buzz surrounding coordinates with a terracotta frayed hem jean jacket and matching mini-skirt.

Silver Jeans Co. sourced inspiration from the desert, too, with skinny cropped jeans in dusty lavender, camouflage jackets, mauve open knit cardigans and vintage-looking, worn-in tees.
