Adidas and Spotify Play Music Matchmaker for Runners

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. The fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Instead of runners listening to music, music will listen to runners. Adidas has partnered with Spotify to launch Adidas Go, the first running app that uses iPhone’s accelerometer to instantly match a runner’s favorite music to their workout.

The app, available for iOS via the Apple App store, calculates the user’s stride rate to identify and play songs with matching beats per minute from Spotify’s library. Adidas Go also streams tracks that match the runner’s interests base on their favorite playlists, artists and genres.

General manager of Adidas Running Adrian Leek said, “For many people having the right music playing while you run can provide the perfect boost of energy to enhance your running experience.”

Post workout, user can review and save their distance, time, pace and Adidas miCoach RunScore. They can also save and share the music they listened to on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
