Asics is revving up its focus on the women’s fitness market with its first fully-owned women’s running and training event, Asics Vine Body Sole Weekend. The three-day event, scheduled for May 12-14, 2016 in Napa Valley, Calif., is designed to celebrate the brand’s growing women’s fitness community.
The inaugural event, open to 3,000 women 18 years and older, will include a half marathon, training events, yoga and other fitness activities. Individual and relay options are available for the half marathon. Asics will also make good use of the event’s locale by hosting wine tastings, an Asics fashion show and a wine and music festival Finish Line Festival.
“Asics helps women shine brighter in sports and in life,” said Kim Bhesania, Asics America women’s business director, in a statement. “We believe sports can transform lives and as a brand, we are committed to creating events and experiences, like Asics Vine Body Sole Weekend, that celebrate women and their pursuit for health, happiness, and the ultimate goal – Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.”
Tickets cost $250 and include registration, entry to events, Asics footwear, an event keepsake and access to the Finish Line Festival. Events will be held with partners Beringer Vineyards, Cairdean Estate and Charles Krug Winery, and will also benefit local and national charities including Girls on the Run International.
