Atlanta Shoe Market Gets an European Makeover

Atlanta Shoe Market will present 1,800 shoe brands to buyers from the Southeast and around the country during the Aug. 22-24 show.

The show’s 500,000-square-foot space in the Cobb Galleria Convention Centre will have an updated European look. Design changes were carried out through the entire show, including new entrance designs, logos and fabric booth designs.

This year, the comfort category will be the show’s largest one said Laura Conwell-O’Brien, executive director at the Atlanta Shoe Market. Another category that continues to grow is the work boot and western division.

The show has sold out for the past several seasons, remaining at their capacity of 1,800 attending brands. This year, Conwell-O’Brien says she expects an increase in retailer attendance. The show is large enough that it can cater to all types of retailers, ranging from the majors to the smaller boutiques, she noted.

Events will include an opening day casino and cocktail party from 6:00-9:30 PM and a color and trend breakfast seminar from 7:30-9:00 AM on Aug. 23 with Ellen Campuzano, the president of the Committee for Colour and Trends.
