Blundstone Sponsors the 2015 Sundance Film Festival

Blundstone is stepping into the spotlight. The Australian footwear brand, and maker of the original Chelsea boot, has been named the official boot of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival kicking off in Park City, Utah on Jan. 22.

As a sustaining sponsor for the 11-day film event, Blundstone will have a significant brand presence throughout the festival, including an interactive Airstream trailer at the Day One Party and a space at the Festival Co-op, Sundance’s social hub, where festival-goers will have an opportunity to try on and win a pair of boots. Blundstone will also outfit over 320 filmmakers, jurors and special guests with a complimentary pair of Blundstone boots upon their arrival.

Throughout the years, the brand’s Chelsea boot has proven to be a go-to style for the film industry and has been featured in numerous film and television titles, including Transformers 4 and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Andrew Ross, Blundstone international sales executive, said, “For as long as there has been a big screen, there have been Blundstone boots. Since 1870, we’ve enabled artists to go anywhere, do anything, and live life authentically. We’re very proud to continue that tradition this year as the Official Boot of the Sundance Film Festival.”

The brand will be in Utah a day earlier to support its Fall ’15 line at Outdoor Retailer (Jan. 21-24). The collection includes the Blundstone’s first ever women’s specific boot, the Ladies’ Original Series.

Built to be tough, the premium leather boot is equipped with a steel shank, removable footbed, leather lining and a TPU/PU midsole for longer wear and comfort. Ross said, “We know women love our iconic styles and this new offering brings a silhouette which is more tapered with a feminine shape and fit.”

Other fall highlights include the men’s Suede Original Series made with soft yet durable lightweight suede, the brand new leather Lace-Up Original Series and updated colorways, including the addition of black and burgundy, brown and burnt orange, and brown and navy tartan combinations to Blundstone’s range of staples.
