On March 6, designers Cole Haan and Todd Snyder debuted their ongoing collaboration with a Spring 2015 collection focused on the classic, well-made dress shoe.
The designers revealed six new styles, including chukkas, loafers and oxfords, in a neutral palette. The Cole Haan design team added the house’s techniques to Snyder’s designs, including hand sewing, Goodyear welting and board-lasted constructions.
The shoes also feature a new, customized label that encapsulates the similarities between the brands: heritage, craftsmanship and an American viewpoint. The logotype is adapted from the late 1920s when Cole Haan was Cole, Rood & Haan Co.
“Todd is one of the few designers that honors tradition while simultaneously disrupting and redefining it,” said David Maddocks, chief marketing officer at Cole Haan. “This inaugural collection brings forth an elegant collision of tradition and modernity that is both fresh and familiar.”
The Cole Haan and Todd Snyder collection is available at select retailers.
