Converse Debuts CONS CTS Fragment Design Collaboration

Converse announced a collaboration with the “Godfather of Harajuki” Hiroshi Fujiwara. The Converse CONS CTS Fragment Design collection allows the Tokyo-based street culture icon to put his own stamp on the tough canvas sneaker.

Fujiwara, a self-described “culture DJ,” has become a worldwide symbol of sharp style and impeccable cool, combining his passions for skateboarding culture and subtle design into an aesthetic that is his own. His brand, Fragment Design, has partnered with a host of brands to create one-of-a-kind products, including Starbucks, Nike and Beats by Dr. Dre.

In the five-piece collection with Converse, Fujiwara contrasts three classic colorways—black, parchment and navy—with white stitching and nickel hardware. The line also includes a two metallic striped versions, in gold and silver. The shoes are finished with Fujiwara’s midsole branding and skateboarding details, including drop-in Lunarlon sockliners, memory foam and traction rubber outsoles.

The collaboration will launch at select retailers in Asia on Sept. 10. A worldwide release will follow on Sept. 11. Sneakers will retail for $80.
