The latest limited-edition styles by Converse mixes old with new. Converse and Hancock Vulcanized Articles (HVA), the lifestyle brand known for making rubber bonded outerwear using techniques that date back to the 19th century , unveiled its third sneaker collaboration Tuesday.
The new Converse Jack Purcell Rally x Hancock sneaker features a vulcanized, water-repellant canvas upper with a cured rubber overlay designed to highlight the Rally’s unique design. The collection marks the first time Hancock DNA has been paired with the Jack Purcell oxford silhouette. The rubber overlay is made with HVA’s traditional technique, hand-cut with shears. The seams are bonded manually with the brand’s secret glue recipe.
The sneaker is available in three colorways—purple, teal and orange—and features Hancock’s Siphonia Elastica graphic rubber plant print on a grosgrain pull-tab for easy on/off wear.
The Converse Jack Purcell Rally x Hancock collection will be available beginning July 10 at Converse stores in New York City and San Francisco and select retailers across the U.S., Europe and Asia. Retail price is $150.
