Converse announced the launch of “Made by you,” a global campaign that celebrates how fans have transformed the brand’s signature Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers from a blank canvas into a self-portrait.
The Spring ’15 campaign will have a multichannel presence that will stretch across stores, online, and social media. It will also include “Made by you” exhibitions on the streets of cities around the world from New York, to Shanghai, to Rio, featuring footwear from icons like Patti Smith, Andy Warhol, Futura, Jefferson Hack, Sayo Yoshida, Kate Lanphear and Glenn O’Brien, and as well as everyday wearers.
There will also be local portrait exhibitions in small communities to celebrate the diversity of self-expression in neighborhoods around the world.
Ian Stewart, vice president of global marketing, said, “‘Made by you’ originated from a simple human truth – we all want to be our true, authentic self in this world.” He added, “Fans of Chuck Taylor are the ones who have made Chuck Taylor an iconic badge of creative self-expression. It’s time we celebrated them.”
