Under Armour announced that former Dallas Mavericks president and CEO Terdema L. Ussery II has joined the company as President, Global Sports Categories. In his new role, effective Sept. 14, Ussery will be responsible for directing category management across all key brand and business units around the world to drive authenticity and build connections with consumers.
Under Armour CEO and Founder Kevin Plank described Ussery as a “highly respected leader with an extraordinary reputation and track record of success.” He added, “Under Armour is a global growth company and with the addition of Terdema to our team we have one of the best in the business helping to drive the brand forward.”
Prior to joining Under Armour, Ussery served as president and CEO of the Dallas Mavericks for 18 years, where he led plans that more than tripled the team’s revenue and increased its media and digital footprint by developing and expanding partnerships across multiple media platforms. He also held the position of president of Nike Sports Management, overseeing the marketing, advertising and branding of the company’s athletes and securing brand partnerships.
