Every footwear brand has a unique story to tell for Spring ’17, and they’ll share those stories at FFANY, Aug. 2-4 in New York City. From hybrid silhouettes to reinvented classics, here’s a look at some of the key stories to get hooked on for Spring ’17.
Tamaris
It’s back to nature for Tamaris. The German comfort brand is wilding out with a Spring ’17 collection that blurs the lines between fashion and folklore, trend and tradition, and tribal prints and contemporary color. The collection pulls color inspiration from the African savanna, blending sunset-like shades of burnt orange and saffron with earth tones spanning cognac to beige. Heeled sandals, wedges, espadrilles, pumps and mules are enlivened with novelties like multi-colored pom-poms and embroidery, and refined with hits of gold metal.
Patricia Green
Patricia Green is offering effortless summer style in the form of espadrilles. For Spring ’17, the brand is queuing a range of open-toe wedge sandals, slides and flats. Traditional espadrille details like natural jute bottoms and white blanket stitching pop against electric shades of blue suede. Accents like camel-color leather straps add a polished touch.
Alegria
Alegria is going for gold with the introduction of the Golden Unity, a gold snake-embossed leather sandal accented with two crystal buckle ornaments. The glam look is available on the Lara silhouette—a T-strap wedge sandal with a slip-resistant outsole, two adjustable hook-and-loop straps and a leather insole for ultra-comfort.

The brands answer the call for transitional footwear with a range of suede ankle booties and mules with laser cut details.
Penny Loves Kenny
Fur pom-poms are not just for keychains anymore. The trend for fur embellishments continues as Penny Loves Kenny decorates a vibrant line of pumps and flats with monochromatic, furry pom-poms. The range of open stock styles is available in bright red, navy and more.
Swedish Hasbeens
How do you reinvent a shoe as classic as a clog? If you’re Swedish Hasbeens, you do it with an invigorating color palette, spanning red to golden rod leather, and a bold use of buckle treatments. The brand keeps the ’70s alive with its new collection.
Bernardo
Fanciful materials, spanning “blush snake” to white leather splashed with multi-colored paint, presents an unexpected and exciting take on Bernardo’s stable of timeless sandal silhouettes. Additionally, the brand plays with mid-height heels, wide ankle straps, tassel details and statement hardware in gold and silver.
Inuikii
Inuikii returns from Switzerland with an elevated take on athletic slides. The brand, best known for winter boots, is introducing a range of slides that plays with washed canvas, heavy braiding and oversized gemstones. Athletic-inspired white outsoles keep the look sporty and fresh.
Howsty
Howsty’s creative take on “bohemian chic” has resulted in new and imaginative hybrid silhouettes for Spring ’17. The brand’s standout style for the season is a dusty rose suede sandal that seamlessly combines the season’s in-demand trends: block heels, pink, lacing and summer suede.
Lola Cruz
Spanish brand Lola Cruz offers a youthful and contemporary take on Europe’s biggest trends. For Spring ’17, the brand is banking on bold and vibrant licks of color and creative cut-outs to tell a fun and flirty story.
Pura Lopez
Pura Lopez’s Spring ’17 collection will have you Googling “tropical getaways.” The brand—Lola Cruz’s sophisticated sister—is incorporating high-end details to platform espadrilles, including soft gold leather ankle ties and cording, tassel details and raffia, which doubles as fringe.
Two24 by Ariat
Two24 by Ariat delivers a lifestyle option for consumers that go to Ariat for its equestrian and Western aesthetic and durability. The debut collection for men and women incorporates woven textures, heavy stitching, tonal colorways and washed leathers.
Ilse Jacobsen
With no end of athleisure in sight, Isle Jacobsen is expanding the Tulip Collection, a range of sporty, packable slip-ons. Just as it has done with its popular flip-flops and rain boots, the brand is exploding the Tulip Collection’s assortment of colors with five new options for Spring ’17.
André Assous Footwear
Meet the sneakpadrille—André Assous’s monster of a shoe that combines the best of spring/summer casual style. The shoe marries the soft suede upper and jute treatment of an espadrille with the comfort, lacing, perfs and rubber outsole of a sneaker. The shoe is also offered as a skate-inspired slip-on.
Laidback London
Based in London and handmade in Kenya using locally sourced materials, Laidback London merges two worlds into one for Spring ’17. The collection offers easy-to-wear sandal silhouettes that transition from sidewalk to boardwalk, each embellished with inventive beading and patterns.
Fornarina
The makers of Pajar Canada are serving up a new flavor of women’s footwear with Fornarina, a new brand geared toward the “ultra-feminine and absolutely up-to-date woman.” Fornarina offers Italian-made styles designed to be noticed, including an athleisure metallic sneakers with bold and voluminous outsoles.
Adrianna Papell Footwear
Lace speaks volumes in the Spring ’17 Adrianna Papell collection, which adds the delicate fabric to casual sneakers and menswear-inspired oxfords. For a more classic look, the brand swaths sandals, pointed toe flats, d’Orsay heels and ballerinas with lace in wedding-friendly colors like white, beige, cream and navy.
