FFANY Names Shopbop Retailer of the Year

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Online retailer, Shopbop, will be honored as FFANY’s 2016 Retailer of the Year at the 23rd annual QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes On Sale” Gala on Oct. 25 in New York City. Shopbop CEO Darcy Penick will accept the award.

“As the ultimate destination for contemporary and designer fashion, FFANY is proud to award Shopbop with this honor. Their visionary leadership in online retailing and thoughtful partnership with the creative fashion community has established them as one of the world’s leading retailers,” said FFANY CEO Ron Fromm.

Stocking names like Aquazzura, Paul Andrew and Sarah Flint, Shopbop made its online debut in 2000 as a premier site for designer womenswear, footwear and accessories. Amazon purchased the company in 2006, and ultimately enhanced the site with new tools and services.

The gala is part of FFANY and QVC’s month-long initiative to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. Television chef Sandra Lee will also be honored with the Jodi Fisher Humanitarian Award for her contribution to breast cancer awareness.

The annual FFANY Shoes on Sale televised shopping event on QVC will take place on Oct. 20, with shoes priced at half the MSRP.
