Foot Locker and Asics America have revealed the five finalists for this year’s “Real Lives. Real Runners.” competition, for which aspiring filmmakers were invited to create their own motivating films based on the stories of runners from all walks of life and tell how running has affected their lives personally.
Filmmakers will vie for the first place prize, a national airing of their film during the televised broadcast of the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon on Nov. 1. The winner will also receive a cash prize from Mofilm and an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas for the annual Mofilm Awards.
Stacy Cunningham, executive vice president of marketing for Foot Locker, said, “The contestants of this year’s ‘Real Lives. Real Runners.’ campaign have truly gone above and beyond in capturing Foot Locker and Asics’ shared belief that running is a sport for all to enjoy, especially with the right gear.” She added, “We’re excited to share these amazing stories with the public and are looking forward to hosting these talented filmmakers in New York City.”
The five films are available on Foot Locker’s YouTube channel through Oct. 15. The creators with the most YouTube views will be flown to New York City where their films will be screened and a winner declared by a panel of judges.
