Gold Toe Steps Into the Footwear Market

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Gold Toe is marking its 80th anniversary with a line of slippers for men and women. The first-ever collection of footwear from the sock brand is slated for Fall ’15.

Back in 2014, the Gildan USA-owned brand inked a deal with The RFA Group, a private label footwear manufacturer who also supplies shoes for Isaac Mizrahi, to help with its expansion into footwear.

Patricia McHale, marketing vice president at Gold Toe, said, “Even though we’re celebrating our 80th birthday this year, you’re never too old to try something new, and creating a durable and comfortable slipper under the Gold Toe name is something that makes a lot of sense to us.”
