In the Showroom: Dansko

Comfort footwear brand Dansko welcomes Spring ’17 with a heap of new materials and transitional silhouettes. The collection is a combination of fashion-forward designs, fan favorites and unique styles from Brazil.

Red plays a big role in Dansko’s Classics range. Cherry red serves as the accent color for a series of styles including the Vera, a peep-toe sandal with a sporty two-tone rubber outsole, the Deandra, a 3-inch heel sandal embellished with flat silver hardware, and the Selma, a double strap flatform slide. Other key colors in the spring line include plum, metallic pewter and navy.

Dansko plays with beaded embellishment in a line of cork footbed sandals. Raffia, snake and cutouts also decorate the uppers of sandals. The Sausalito collection offers the widest variety of materials spanning black and sand stained glass prints to iridescent rose, metallic snake and metallic stone.

The brand keys into casual/dress styles in the Decatur and Tivoli collections.

The Decatur collection features stapled construction sandals with heels that are just over three inches, offering Dansko consumers a comfortable option that stands up to the sea of ’70s style heels flooding the market. Highlights include the covered Demetra, woven Dawson and closed toe Dotty.

The Tivoli collection, which boasts two-inch heels, offers two transitional ankle boots, a plain nubuck and an ankle boot. Meanwhile, the Marion features easy-to-wear slides likes a Mary Jane clog and double strap sandal.

Dansko rounds out the women’s spring line with a series of athleisure-inspired shapes. The perforated Charlie sneaker is refreshed with bright uppers, including red and blue leather and mustard suede. A smattering of studs adds visual interest to sporty sandals, the Catalina and the Cindy.

The casual look is carried into its offering for men’s, which focuses on leather slip-on sneakers and a fisherman/sneaker hybrid.
