Gold studs, high heels and moto boots might be a given for a brand such as Guess, with its all-American, rock ‘n’ roll roots, but for Fall ’15 the denim-turned-lifestyle brand is proving that it is more than just a natural badass. The Guess woman also has a softer and sporty side.
Driving that feminine look for fall is a full range of peep-toe booties that call for wintertime pedicures, including a classic side-zip stiletto bootie with an angled topline in smooth black or gun metal shimmer, an electric blue lace above-the-ankle stiletto boot and a luscious red lace-up shoetie with a double upper and oversized brush gold eyelets.
Touches of gold are carried throughout the line as bold zipper hardware on ankle-skimming platform boots and as shiny stud details on boot wraps.
A range of faux crocodile-embossed day-to-night heels, in blue, camel and black, are finished with gold embellished heel tips. Here, Guess reins it in for a more refined and sophisticated look. Likewise, a three-piece line of strappy dress sandals (available in pale gold, black and fuschia) is toned down with wispy ankle ties and delicate heels. Classic merlot suede pumps with a pointed toe are another simple, yet strong look.
The brand taps into its pinup heritage with a round-toe, platform pump in luminous patent burgundy on a chunky heel. The same silhouette takes on a Seventies vibe with a faux snake upper and wood sole. A collection of biker boots with wide heels and lug soles satisfy shoppers’ taste for aggressive biker looks. The boots are decked out with silver buckles, side zippers and quilting details. A sleek open back stiletto with moto-inspired quilting across upper epitomizes biker chic.
For a more casual feel, slouchy suede ankle cuffs soften ankle boots on a slender wedge heel. Guess brings that cozy feel full-tilt with a range of alpine-meets-sneaker boots. The hybrids, available in electric blue and pewter, are lined with matching fluffy faux-fur that peeks from the cuff and extra wide laces.
Sneaker/boot hybrids make up the bulk of Guess’ men’s range. Standout styles include gray and black suede and leather high-tops with three wide Velcro straps. Combinations of leather and suede are also used to create a luxe look to flat bottom hi-tops, with soft navy, black and burgundy being key colors.
That muted color palette is carried through a line of retro runners with a dressy look and a simple black slip-on sneaker with puffed collar details. And not to be left out, the men’s line gets the Midas touch with shiny gold eyelet rings and zippers used as trim on black leather sneakers.
