Jockey, the brand better known for its apparel and underwear, is stepping into footwear for the first time. Jockey International, Inc. announced Tuesday it has agreed for The Eastman Group to design, manufacture and market the line of men’s and women’s casual footwear. The collection is slated for a soft launch in Spring ’16.
The Eastman Group bring its expertise in technical fabrics, which Jockey plans to incorporate into the athleisure footwear collection. Temperature-regulating materials and moisture-wicking fabrics with anti-microbial properties will feature prominently in the line. The brand will offer sandals in the spring, slippers in the fall and casual footwear year-round.
In a statement, Milou Gwyn, Jockey International, Inc. vice president of licensing, said, “This seamless integration of quality, cross-functional and technology-driven footwear falls perfectly in line with Jockey’s commitment to deliver innovative products.”
