Begining July 29, a renovated 1970s Keen RV will take a two-month cross-country trip to raise awareness for preserving public lands and celebrating the places people play. The campaign aims to collect more than 100,000 signatures on a petition for the designation of new national monuments, which include the Mojave Desert, CA; Owyhee Canyonlands, OR; Birthplace of Rivers, WV; Boulder-White Clouds, ID; and Gold Butte, NV.
The Keen RV will make the trip from Portland, OR, across the Rockies, through the Midwest, to the Southeast and end in Washington D.C. to hand-deliver the petition on September 23. A key stop on the tour will be the annual Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, UT, where Keen will host a celebration at Keenfest to engage the outdoor community.
