When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

Kenneth Cole Productions Inc. appointed Marc Schneider as its new chief executive officer. Cole will continue as executive chairman and chief creative officer, and Schneider will report to Cole as of Feb. 23.

Cole said, “Over the last year we have been working on transformative initiatives to better position the company for future global growth.” He added, “Marc’s vast background and success in all facets of the apparel, footwear and accessories businesses will be instrumental in navigating this journey, and I’m thrilled to welcome and partner with him as our new CEO.”

Schneider has worked in the retail and wholesale business for over 30 years, building brands and global businesses. He will assume responsibility for the company’s retail, outlet, e-commerce, international, licensing and wholesale businesses.

Prior to this appointment, Schneider worked at PVH Corp. as the group president of Heritage Brands. He was responsible for the dress furnishings, sportswear, licensing, and retail divisions. Before joining PVH Corp., he served as senior vice president and officer at Timberland.
