Later in October, Nike will release its cold-weather running collection, which includes three new sneaker launches: the Nike Pegasus Trail 2 GORE-TEX, the Nike Pegasus 37 Shield and the Nike React Miler Shield.
The three silhouettes will highlight two footwear features that are designed to be wintertime favorites for runners: a GORE-TEX upper on the Pegasus Trail 2 and redesigned traction patterns in the Shield series, specifically the Pegasus 37 Shield and the React Miler Shield.
The Pegasus Trail 2 GORE-TEX’s entire upper is upgraded with a waterproof exterior to protect the runner’s feet against moisture, whether rain, sleet, hail, ice or snow.
Additional traction was added at the heel and toe to steady runners when going up or down hills, joining the outsole’s detailed nubs for a secure ride. Nike React foam is designed to help provide cushioned responsiveness with every step.
The Pegasus 37 Shield and React Miler Shield feature many of the same characteristics, a reimagined outsole pattern inspired by winter vehicle tires, while multidirectional shapes help channel water for improved contact with wet pavement. The weatherized shroud upper for both silhouettes is designed specifically to help repel water and keep feet dry.
The Pegasus 37 Shield is offered in two colorways including a black and grey, as well as black with blue and pink accents to kick off the sneakers launch.
On the other hand, the React Miler Shield offers three colorways including grey/black, a black/purple and a tan/pink/purple combination. For an added perk, the shoe is customizable on the brand’s Nike By You sneaker customization service.
The drops were announced only a week after Nike unveiled the addition of three new colorways of the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly Next%, timed to coincide with the London Marathon. The shoe’s ultra-recognizable, maximalist silhouette was designed by the Nike Sport Research Lab to offer critical benefits for competitive runners on a race day.
