This fall, Cole Haan is adding its two cents with the Pinch Campus, a reinterpretation of its classic penny loafer, updated with the brand’s signature comfort technology.
The updated Pinch penny loafer, which first became popular on Ivy League campuses in the 1950s, features a redesigned interior, a storm welt and an ultra-flexible and wearable sole to add lightness and cushioning.
The style has been a defining model Cole Haan. The shoe is crafted according to traditional New England moccasin construction, and gets its name from the technique cobblers use to pinch the leather on top of the shoe as it is sewn together. The same craftsmanship is applied to the new collection.
The launch is accompanied by a multi-channel campaign called, ‘The New Class,’ shot by photographer Christian Hogstedt on an Ivy League campus. The Pinch Campus styles are available online and in stores, with the penny loafer retailing for $140.
