Two weeks after releasing a collection with the Brooklyn artist collective KidSuper Studios, Puma will drop another collaboration Saturday, this time with the fashion brand Maison Kitsuné.
The pair’s first collection reworks classic silhouettes for a “vintage but modern look.” A mostly tonal and earthy affair, it merges Maison Kitsuné’s Paris-meets-Tokyo aesthetic with Puma’s classic styles and sports heritage. Items include an assortment of apparel basics, several sneakers and a range of accessories. Maison Kitsuné’s signature Fox logos—the brand’s name merges the French word for “house” and Japanese word for “fox”—can be seen throughout.
Rubber mudguards represent the “key element” of the collaboration’s footwear selection, according to Puma. The Ralph Sampson Mid appears in a black nylon upper and tan molded rubber overlay. The Roma takes on a subtler, cleaner look with a white leather upper, contrast stitching and a tan gum outsole. The Ralph Sampson Lo comes in two colorways: black and yellow and an all-over white.
The Puma x Maison Kitsuné collection offers a range of minimalistic track suits, tees and hoodies, as well as a couple of utilitarian pieces. A military jacket, made with a technical fabric that keeps the wearer warm and dry, sports an all-over graphic print lining with thin padding and multiple front flaps and hook-and-loop pockets for storage. The lineup also includes a cargo pant with six pockets.
An assortment of accessories rounds out the collection, including a muted tan backpack, black and tan waist bags, caps and a bucket hat.
Puma’s Maison Kitsuné collection is scheduled to drop Saturday. It will be available on Puma and Maison Kitsuné’s websites, at Puma and Maison Kitsuné stores and select retailers.
Earlier this month, Puma teamed up with KidSuper Studios to release a unique, colorful collection of apparel and footwear. Pieces included a puffer jacket with an all-over painted design, a track suit covered in a camo-inspired face print and four unique sneakers.
