Puma announced Monday that Johan Adamsson has replaced Christian Voigt as director of sports marketing and sports licensing.
Adamsson, who joined Puma in 2001 as its international football marketing manager and most recently was the company’s head of sports marketing Teamsport, will be responsible for managing and expanding Puma’s portfolio of athletes and sports teams on a national and international level.
In 2014, due to increased marketing expenses for the “Forever Faster” brand campaign starring runner Usain Bolt and soccer star Mario Balotelli, the addition of World Cup promotions and the sponsoring of additional football clubs and athletes, Puma’s marketing expenses increased 4.9% to $1.38 million. However, the company noted that savings were made in other area in line with ongoing strict cost management.
