Puma Revs Up with Ignite Launch

Puma introduced Ignite, a performance running shoe equipped with the brand’s new foam cushioning. The shoe is slated to hit stores in March.

The men’s and women’s shoe marries Puma’s Ignite foam, which provides responsive support, optimal rebound and comfort, with ForEverFoam, a compound used in the automotive industry to create long-lasting durability. The material is new to the running shoe market.

Puma running training business unit general manager Karin Baust said the shoe has been a long time in the making. She added, “It’s extremely satisfying to launch Ignite because an advancement in footwear technology like this doesn’t come around every day, and we’re confident this is going to have a big impact on a wide range of runners around the world.”

Usain Bolt, the holder of three world records in sprints, is offering his support to promote Ignite. He said, “I start out with a running shoe to warm up before going into a spike, and I need a shoe that is comfortable and keeps my energy up. I love Ignite for that, and can feel it make a real difference. It’s a pretty good looking shoe as well.”
