Put On Your Dancing Shoes: Ellen DeGeneres Launches Footwear

Ellen DeGeneres, known for her personal collection of casual cool sneakers, is dabbling in footwear. Camuto Group announced Tuesday it has entered a partnership with the comedian’s new lifestyle brand, ED, to produce casual and athletic footwear beginning Spring ’16.

The ED footwear collection will offer “sophisticated and wearable” styles that reflect DeGeneres’ personal style, including sport styles made of soft leather, suede, natural linen, canvas and denim in a classic color palette of white, blue and hints of red. The line will retail for $80-$100 and will be sold in better department stores and specialty boutiques.

In a press release, Camuto Group CEO Alex Del Cielo, said, “We are excited to partner with Ellen and her ED by Ellen DeGeneres brand. Ellen has broad, global appeal and her interest in making stylish, comfortable footwear is a tremendous opportunity in the marketplace. We anticipate strong brand growth and are eager to build the business together worldwide.”

ED launched in June with home, apparel and accessories. Bestselling items include a denim bomber jacket, T-shirts with animal motifs and a handmade patchwork quilt. The brand is teaming up with Bergdorf Goodman during New York Fashion Week to host a pop-up shop stocked with high end pieces from the fall and holiday lines.
