New Reebok Footwear Brings Street Style to Workwear Shoe

Consumer demand for versatile, wear-everywhere footwear is giving even purpose-built work shoes a stylish upgrade.

The new Fusion Flexweave Work by Reebok and its official occupational footwear licensee, Warson Brands, introduces a few of the features typically found on Reebok’s sneakers into the field of workwear. Designed with a fashion-forward bent, the Fusion Flexweave Work will also come with either a Floatride Core foam midsole or a Floatride Energy midsole to bring a well-engineered bounce to the wearer’s step while on the job.

The new silhouette is “ahead of its time in both style and engineering,”John Duvic, vice president of product development at Warson Brands, said in a statement. “Fusion Flexweave Work is made to increase energy throughout the workday, and the Floatride Energy midsole has springy bounce.”

With a "cage" design and a combination of Ultraknit and Flexweave to complete the upper, Reebok and Warson Brands' work shoes present a highly-engineered, highly-stylish silhouette.

Along with a springy sole, the Fusion Flexweave Work also features an “innovative cage design” to provide extra support for the wearer with the added bonus of giving the shoe a distinct look. The rest of the silhouette’s uppers are composed of a combination of Ultraknit and Flexweave, two of the knitting technologies Reebok uses for its performance and lifestyle footwear. This unique combination gives the shoe upgraded breathability and personalization, the companies said.

The Floatride Energy midsole is also said to weigh less than a midsole constructed from ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). The material provides “premium” cushioning while maintaining flexibility, durability and a low overall weight, Reebok and Warson said.

“It feels fast and responsive,” Duvic said. “We are excited to hear the feedback toward the Floatride Foam midsole.”

Additionally, the Fusion Flexweave Work features a slip-resistant outsole, contains no metal and either meets or exceeds ASTM F2413 safety standards for work footwear, making it a versatile work shoe that can be used on a variety of job sites.

The Fusion Flexweave Work is available in a variety of styles for both men and women and can be found at select retail partners for between $134 to $142.
