The current queen of fashion week, Rihanna, presented her Spring’17 Fenty Puma by Rihanna collection in grandiose style on Wednesday during Paris Fashion Week.
The collection combined inspiration from 18th century France and modern athletic silhouettes to create a look befitting a gym-going Marie Antoinette. Models were dressed in pastel and floral separates, bodysuits and jackets with laser cut, pearl and corseted details. This season’s popular furry slides were updated with satin bows, and sneakers were re-imagined as stiletto mules, slingbacks and oversized platforms with satin trim.
Fenty made the move from New York to Paris, presenting to an intimate audience at the salons of Hotel Saloman de Rothschild, and all watching via the exclusive livestream via Tidal.
“I am really excited about this collection as its very fun and light. Showing in Paris was the perfect backdrop as I pulled a lot of inspiration from France, Marie Antoinette and The Palace of Versailles specifically,” said Rihanna. “Mixing athletic wear with regal touches was a challenge and I hope everyone loves the results. I cannot wait to wear this collection.”
