Rihanna and Manolo Blahnik are redefining what it means to be a rhinestone cowboy. The duo collaborated on “Denim Desserts,” a six-piece collection of opulent denim heels and boots.
The Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik collection includes the “Dancehall Cowgirl” denim lace-up boot with tiered crystals around the cuff, a crystal-embellished ankle strap stiletto and a pointed toe stiletto blanketed with iridescent denim-color sequins. The showpiece is a thigh-high denim stiletto boot with an attached waist belt trimmed with silver and white crystals and sequins. The boot, which Rihanna dons the boot in the April issue of British Vogue, will retail for $3,995.
Embroideries and embellishments in the collection are inspired by Rihanna’s hand tattoos.
Manolo Blahnik CEO Kristina Blahnik said, “For Manolo Blahnik, Rihanna was a collaboration we were really excited about—we firmly believed the two of them working hand in hand together with their creativity would achieve something totally unique and very special—we are really, really excited for the collection to launch.”
In a statement, Rihanna said, “I have always loved Manolo Blahniks. Mr Manolo’s shoes are the most luxurious and timeless shoe there is! His designs make women feel incredible when they wear them, so to be able to collaborate with him and combine our sensibilities has been a dream come true.”
The collection will be available in Manolo Blahnik stores in London, New York and Hong Kong beginning May 5. All the styles in the collection will have a very limited run and will be available to purchase in-store only.
