The Aldo Group appointed Daianara Grullon Amalfitano to vice president of global footwear. Amalfitano, a 20-year industry veteran, joins Aldo from Steve Madden, where she most recently served as president of specialty brands and international brand manager.
Amalfitano will lead global footwear design and product management for The Aldo Group from the Montreal head office, beginning Feb. 15.
This appointment marks the company’s attempts to focus efforts on developing its branded businesses into new channels. Amalfitano will oversee footwear for all brands, geographies and channels of distribution and lead an international team of product managers, product developers and designers.
Moving forward, Aldo is focusing on a global product strategy and assortment that balances the company’s vision with the concepts behind its individual brands. Amalfitano will work with the marketing organization on go-to market, brand strategy, consumer insights, merchandising, sales data and customer feedback.
