The Look @ GDS: Night Run

When it’s deliver-or-die, supply chains become the lifeblood of a company. To that end, the fashion industry has embraced technology to navigate today’s hyper-complicated supply chain, with myriad solutions shaping the first, middle and last mile. Call it Sourcing 2.0.

The sneaker and tuxedo look might actually be passable, thanks to the latest “black tie” sneakers hitting the marketing for Spring ’17.

Caviar-like uppers, shimmering textiles and woven leather insets are just some of the elevated elements brands are adding to sneakers for men and women. Some go a step further by amplifying outsoles to new dimensions. Hits of white embolden the look, especially elastic bands and straps.

Black also remains an essential ingredient in the dress category. However, the overall feel is more cool and hip instead of elegant. Designers added white outsoles to patent leather brogues, disco-inspired gold platforms to sandals and striped outsoles to heels.
