Thierry Rabotin prides itself on making heels that are as sleek as they are comfortable. The Italian-made brand has long put an emphasis on comfort, but with its new fall collection Thierry Rabotin is introducing a new 4 inch heel that promises women more support than ever. Vamp recently spoke with Karl Schlect, president of Thierry Rabotin USA, about what to expect this fall.
VAMP: In your view, what is Thierry Rabotin best known for?
Schlect: Thierry Rabotin shoes are high-end designer shoes that offer the utmost comfort and style. We specialize in making shoes for women who know and appreciate quality craftsmanship. Every single pair of Thierry Rabotins is handmade in our very own factory outside Milan.
Vamp: The comfort segment is rapidly growing to include consumers who traditionally might not have thought of comfort. How are you reaching out to this demographic?
Schlect: We are really excited about reaching this new consumer. More and more, women are challenging the idea that they have to be uncomfortable to look good. It’s simply not true. The Thierry Rabotin woman is confident; she demands comfort and is unwilling to sacrifice style.
VAMP: You’re releasing a new dress heel at a higher price point. Tell us what it’s all about.
Schlect: We launched our Couture collection for Spring ’16. It features very high-end details, including 24 karat gold-plated metals and hand-placed Swarovski crystals. For Fall ’16, we are ecstatic to tell the world about our new 4 inch heel. The patented heel design includes a cupped heel, a padded arch and padding under the ball of the foot. All of these features combine to ensure the most evenly distributed weight of the foot for ultimate comfort. The Couture collection is a new concept, offering an elegant look with fit and our comfort concept.
VAMP: Because you make all your own shoes, you are able to provide a level of customization to retailers that other brands cannot. How do you think this gives you an advantage and what sort of customization do you allow?
Schlect: Our customers that take advantage of our customization have been longtime fans of Thierry’s shoes. We offer the made-to-order service where a customer can customize her pair, picking material, color and combinations. Many of these pairs are one-of-a-kind.
VAMP: Aside from the new heel, what’s new from Thierry Rabotin for fall?
Schlect: We will always stay true to our loyal customers and offer a variety of stylish flats – from ballerina to smoking slipper styles. We have several new boot and bootie styles. Some of our new materials are very special as well. There is an ultrathin elastic that so gently hugs the foot. Women have loved the look and feel.
