Reebok’s Tom and Jerry Capsule Pulls on Millennial Heartstrings

After releasing its first Tom and Jerry collection this February, Reebok has returned with a follow-up capsule for fans of the Saturday morning staple, this time also featuring Droopy, the cartoon dog and sometimes-costar to the classic cat-and-mouse duo.

Created in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, the new Reebok x Tom & Jerry collection comprises a trio of sneakers styles—the Club C Revenge, Vector Runner and Club MEMT—and arrives as a live-action Tom and Jerry movie is slated to hit theaters next year.

Droopy’s Club C Revenge, available in adult’s, kid’s and toddler’s sizes, includes bespoke sock liners, a soft leather upper and an orange fur collar nodding to its canine inspiration. The Tom and Jerry Vector Runner adds a bit of mouse-approved cheese to the shoe’s red upper and tongue, while the white Club MEMT features fur and cheese details, as well as the heads of the frenemy title characters on the tongues.

The Droopy shoe, available starting Tuesday, retails for between $50 and $100. The Vector Runner and Club MEMT are available for $75 and $70, respectively.

The Tom and Jerry collection arrives amid a wave of nostalgia-inducing footwear and apparel. Fellow sneaker brand Adidas unveiled a limited-edition Lego shoe earlier this fall while Champion and General Mills teamed up for a limited-edition capsule collection featuring breakfast classics Lucky Charms, Wheaties, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Honey Nut Cheerios.

Reebok also recently released a limited run of sneakers made with Korean fashion brand Kanghyuk. Limited to just 50 pairs, the Reebok x Kanghyuk Zig Kinetica became available for purchase at Dover Street Market London Friday.

The capsule, teased earlier this year during Kanghyuk’s “Collection 8” preview, is a continuation of the “Advanced Concepts” handmade project, whose design was originally conceived for Kanghyuk co-founder Sanglak Shon’s graduate collection. As the previous product was crafted using repurposed airbags, the Reebok x Kanghyuk Zig Kinetica features an upper made from leftover material from Kanghyuk’s ready-to-wear collection. The Reebok x Kanghyuk Zig Kinetica comes in two colorways—black and white—and retails for 250 pounds ($330).
