Ugg is expanding its men’s range with an emphasis on comfort for Spring ’15. The brand launched Treadlite by Ugg, a new technology originally developed by fellow Deckers Brands-owned company, Hoka One One.
The technology offers a lightweight, durable outsole that leverages RMAT technology, a blended rubber EVA with superior grip and rebound.
Ugg is the only casual footwear brand currently harnessing the innovation, which is applied to its Fathom collection, a range of suede and canvas chukka boots, moccasins and slip-ons, available in stores now. The line retails for $70-$110. The brand plans to roll out the technology into women’s and children’s offerings.
Stuart Jenkins, Ugg innovation and product development senior vice president, said, “We are constantly improving our products to bring customers the highest quality experience and unsurpassed comfort across all of our product categories. The technology that went in to creating this ultra-lightweight yet exceptionally comfortable and durable outsole for Treadlite by Ugg was a natural evolution for our comfort casuals.”
