Ugg for Men made its runway debut as the footwear sponsor at the Grungy Gentleman Spring ’16 show last Wednesday during the CFDA’s first New York Fashion Week: Men’s. In tandem with the show, Ugg launched @UGGforMen on Instagram, the brand’s first social media channel exclusively for its men’s product, events and news.
Ugg, a division of Deckers Brands, produced 100 of its Freamon shoes in custom cobalt blue to complement the Grungy Gentleman athleisure-inspired collection. Each shoe was embossed with a “G” on the tongue. Ugg also showcased new sneakers from the Fall ’15 line, including monochromatic suede and leather Steiner high-top and Bueller low-top.
Director of Product Development, Men’s at Ugg Patrick Armitage said the collaboration was a natural, as both brands communicate a masculine simplicity and appeal to men with a bold, stylistic edge.
“I was thrilled to work with Ugg for Men as the footwear sponsor for my Spring/Summer 16 show,” said Jace Lipstein, founder and designer of Grungy Gentleman. “Sneakers featured exhibit supreme craftsmanship and details, all while maintaining the comfort all guys know from their popular slippers.”
